Denmark’s IFU Boosts AKS Khan Pharmaceuticals with $12.5 Million Investment for Expansion

The Investment Fund for Developing Countries managed by Denmark has invested $12.5 million into AKS Khan Pharmaceuticals which is one of the main pharmacy chains in Bangladesh. AKS Khan Pharmaceuticals intends to construct 100 new pharmacies and diagnostic centers through this capital investment to grow its national network throughout Bangladesh. The pharmaceutical chain plans to service 8 million patients yearly during the upcoming three-year period after its current annual patient count of 1.5 million.

A signing ceremony took place at the Radisson Blu Water Garden Hotel in Dhaka where both IFU representatives and members of AKS Khan Holdings attended. The Denmark ambassador to Bangladesh Christian Brix Møller highlighted that this investment demonstrates Bangladesh’s genuine advancement status during this critical period.

The expansion represents a pivotal moment for Samanzar S Khan to provide superior healthcare services to more people across Bangladesh as managing director of AKS Khan Holdings. The essential requirement of quality authentic medicine accessed by all people represents the key factor for treating chronic diseases and improving the lives of millions in Bangladesh according to IFU CEO Lars Bo Bertram.

The Investment Fund for Developing Countries operated in Bangladesh from 1990 to date and dedicated €300 million for business development in several areas including water treatment and fertilizer manufacturing. The new investment will boost Bangladesh’s medical infrastructure while providing essential medical services to serve millions of people who need them.
