The University of Sydney has received a donation of almost 8 billion Bangladeshi Taka (100 million Australian dollars) from Robin Khuda, an Australian entrepreneur who was born in Bangladesh and is among the top billionaires in the nation. Scholarships for female STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) students will be made possible by this donation over a 20-year period. It is the biggest one-time payment any Australian university has ever received. Vice-Chancellor Mark Scott of the University of Sydney commented on the donation, saying, “We have been talking about this fund for the last two years. After those talks, Robin Khuda created and started this scholarship program. The University of Sydney provides good academic education and conducts remarkable research projects, according to Robin Khuda, who explained why he selected the university for the donation.
Before to this donation, Robin Khuda made news across the world last year when he suddenly rose to become one of Australia’s wealthiest people. He is the creator and CEO of AirTrunk, a well-known data center business in Australia. He sold the business to Blackstone Inc., an American investment management firm, in September of last year for more than 1.08 trillion Bangladeshi Taka, or more than 10.8 billion Australian dollars. He became Australia’s youngest tech billionaire as a result of this deal.Robin Khuda moved to Australia from Bangladesh at the age of 18 with his father. His ancestral home is in Sirajganj, Bangladesh. In Australia, the United States, and the United Kingdom, he studied accounting and business.
