Dhaka College vs. City College: Fighting Like Kids, Managed Like Criminals

Tensions erupted in Dhaka’s Science Lab area on Wednesday afternoon as students from Dhaka College and City College engaged in a prolonged clash, prompting the deployment of both police and military personnel to control the situation.

The altercation began around 3 PM, following an alleged attack and vandalism of a Dhaka College bus at the Science Lab intersection. By 4:30 PM, the standoff had already lasted over two hours, with no signs of resolution.

On-site observations reveal City College students have gathered near their campus gates, while Dhaka College students are stationed at the Science Lab intersection. Both groups periodically charge at each other, hurl stones, and shout slogans, escalating the chaos in the busy area.

Police and military personnel have been actively deployed to diffuse tensions and pacify the students. Despite their efforts, the situation remains volatile, with both sides refusing to back down.

Dhaka College students claim that City College students initiated the violence by attacking and vandalizing their bus. However, City College students deny the accusation, asserting that they were victims of an unprovoked assault on their campus.

The ongoing clash has disrupted the surrounding area, leaving locals and commuters caught in the crossfire. Authorities are working to mediate and restore order while urging calm among the students.
