The army has arrested 6 people directly involved in the private killing of Lt. Tanzim Charowa in Chakria, Cox’s Bazar. Firearms and sharp weapons were recovered from them.
The arrested are – Md. Babul, Md. Helal Uddin, Md. Anwar Hakim, Md. Arif Ullah, Md. Ziabul Karim, Md. Hussain.
This information was informed in a press release of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Wednesday.
According to the circular, Lieutenant Tanzim Charwar Nirjan of the Bangladesh Army was martyred in the anti-robbery operation at Chakria in Cox’s Bazar. He was martyred in an operation conducted on the basis of intelligence in Chakaria area around 3 o’clock on Monday night. Later, the army arrested 6 people directly involved in the murder by combing the spot. 2 domestic firearms, 11 rounds, a knife used in the murder, a pickup and a motorcycle were recovered from the arrested persons.
Preliminary investigation revealed that 4 of the arrested persons were directly involved in the crime committed. Remaining 2 people helped with information.
