In December 2024, the 250-kilometre Chattogram-Dhaka oil pipeline will begin to start operating. The Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) is in charge of this BDT 3,600 crore project, which would optimise fuel delivery with the goal of lowering yearly transportation expenses by BDT 150 crore. The pipeline, which has the capacity to transport 30 lakh tonnes of fuel oil a year, will take the place of the more expensive coastal tanker and rail systems, cutting down on transportation time as well as financial losses from theft. It is anticipated that the project will be completed by January 2025.
