The price of rice…, the price of pulses…, eggs… buy money, if anyone wants more, contact the students or the army’ – such a post on social media after August 5. Ibrahim fell into Molla’s eyes. This student of computer science and engineering department of Daffodil Institute of IT started thinking, what if the prices of everyday items were available on one platform? Ibrahim created an app called ‘Bazardar’ with two weeks of effort. Through this, it is possible to easily know the maximum selling price of daily necessities in the market and when this price has been updated. A contact number for the Directorate of Consumer Rights is also provided. Not only the buyer but also the seller will benefit from the app, said Ibrahim. He said, “If the distributors want to supply products at an additional price, the shopkeepers can also protest. You can say, no one is buying more than the app. I can’t give more than that. In this way it is possible to break the market syndicate, Ibrahim Molla thinks. According to him, various attempts have been made to break the syndicate. But either because of various constraints or because of the powerful, the attempt did not succeed. This time the work should be done in reverse. I want to stand against the syndicate from the grass root level. Because, if the people do not buy at a higher price, the shopkeeper cannot keep the higher price. Or don’t put that product in the store. Then the distributors will be under pressure, forced to inform the superiors. As a result, the price will come down. This young man wants to give the app to the government for free. As the reason, he said, ‘I am a child of a middle class family. If the app is launched, I can buy it myself at a lower price. So to speak, somewhat personal; But I want to give it for the greater interest of the country as a whole. The app does not collect any user information. It has no advertising clutter. There is also an opportunity to use offline without internet connection. Ibrahim Mollah points out, ‘We youngsters have good knowledge about technology. But those who are old or people of marginalized areas, they do not understand this. I have tried to keep the usage rules of the app simple so that they don’t have any problems. The student is currently trying to attract the attention of the appropriate authorities. Sending mails to different places. He thinks that it is possible to improve the app if we get everyone’s help.
